Advanced Therapeutic & Clinical practice
This internship is suitable for students who have taken beginning and intermediate herbal
studies courses, wish to refine and direct their knowledge and hone their skills as herbal
practitioners.
CURRICULUM INCLUDES:
THERAPEUTIC APPLICATIONS OF HERBAL REMEDIES
Understanding on deeper levels the actions and chemical constituents of nutrient and affector herbs. The effects of alkaloids and how to safely use them. Formulating the most appropriate remedies and health plans for the unique individual. Systematic approach to evaluating patterns of stress and imbalances.
COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES
Energy healing, aromatherapy, flower essences, metaphysical aspects of disease.
CHRONIC AND LIFE-THREATENING DISEASES
Working with the conventional medical system, complementary medicine and maintenance
herbalism. Aiding convalescence.
MAINTAINING A CLINICAL PHARMACY
Harvesting, crafting and dispensing herbal remedies. Inventory organization, product
formulation.
CLIENT CONSULTATION PROTOCOL
Client intakes, counseling techniques and case study clinics. Internship in the Academy's Free
Clinic. Hands-on experience gathering information, formulating health plans and client follow-
up.
CEREMONY AND RITUAL FOR HEALING
Spiritual and esoteric techniques based on Celtic ancestral traditions.
BECOMING A PROFESSIONAL HERBALIST
Develop and present your herbal business in class: complete and present your business plan in
preparation for financial backers. Ethical, economical and legal issues. Small business
bookkeeping. Cultivating, manufacturing, merchandising, marketing. Participate in the annual
student Medicine Show and debut your business.
Applicants will be interviewed to determine placement in program
1 weekend a month for 9 months March through November
Saturdays will be devoted to study Sundays will be devoted to practice
